Ammobium 'Winged Everlasting'

Description

Pure white, starry flowers which make a delightful dried flower. They work well as a filler in dried autumnal arrangements and hold their own when added to a winter wreath. Although they're not the showiest of dried flowers, they're one of our favourites for their beautiful simplicity.

Like helichrysums, winged everlasting is an Australian native which is very robust and drought tolerant. It also thrives in wet summers.

Sow: Sow undercover in April or outside direct in May. Benefits from warm soil.
Plant: 4 weeks after sowing
Harvest: June-October. Pick when flowers are half open. Stems 80cm or longer.
Vase: Can be used fresh or dry. To dry, strip off foliage, tie in a bunch and hang upside down.
